New Music - Rachel Furner
Hello out there yet again. I haven't decided whether I'm gonna make this a monthly or weekly slot, I think it will just depend on when I have the time and whether I find someone worth blogging about. :-)
Today I'm talking about Rachel Furner. That's her myspace link. She is already well-established in the business, having already been signed to Universal and hoping to release her debut album next year some time. She is gorgeous and very talented! Here's a bio snippet:
And another thing is she performs live alot:
So then, fancy a listen? Here is Rachel Furner live at Pixie Lott's concert at HMV Forum, Kentish Town, on the day of Pixie Lott's album launch in London last month which was broadcast on a live webcast through Pixie's website.
Unfortunately the webcasters were apparently amateurs. The stream was unstable and interrupted several times and at the very start they didn't even show the stage. Still, it's agood set from Rachel Furner who shows off a little of what she is capable of. All of these songs apart from one are her own original creations.

Rachel is a 17 year old singer / songwriter from the UK who has been singing ‘since she could talk’, playing piano from the age of 6 and writing her own songs from 11 years old. She was raised in a house where her bedroom was next door to a room which doubled as a recording studio for her father and would often lie awake into the early hours listening to him record and playing music. She would fall asleep to the sounds of his favorite records that could have been anything from Stevie Wonder to Kate Bush and Carol King.
And another thing is she performs live alot:
Dedication to her music has seen her playing regular gigs in the most unlikely of places for the last year- sometimes up to 4 a week!Indeed, she is currently doing a mini UK tour, with 3 gigs coming up where she supports Paulo Nutini:
