Katie Melua has had some great success, but some fans felt her last album "Pictures" didn't keep up with the times and was just more of the same. "The House" is the 4th studio album and it's due to be released May 24th 2010.
The lead single is "The Flood" which has been played on the radio. It's not what you'd expect - it goes all boogie mid way through. Take a listen. It's relead May 17th.
It's clear that Melua's new album is taking a turn away from her usual stuff. Whether or not it's a stroke of genius or just a bit weird is not yet so clear.
The track list for "The House":
I'd Love To Kill You
The Flood
A Happy Place
A Moment Of Madness
Red Balloons
Tiny Alien
No Fear Of Heights
The One I Love Is Gone
Plague Of Love
God On The Drums, Devil On The Bass
Twisted
The House

As for The Flood, I sort of want to be funked out by it.... Maybe I'll appreciate it a bit more after a few more listens. But for sure I'm going to love at least one song on this album:
Katie has announced an extensive European tour for autumn 2010 which will include 13 shows in Britain in December. She will also be playing at festivals and outdoor concerts this summer.
